Professional Development for Teachers

I shared "Analyzing the Antarctic Ozone Hole" and other chapters with teachers attending various Professional Development. They were amazed at all the possibilities for use in both science and math class.

I had problems with settings on my computer, but did a power point to show the tools.

On April 29, 2006 I shared the Earth Exploration information with a group of teachers who brought students to a "Girls of Promise" day at Arkansas State University. The students went to a variety of sessions all day while the teachers attended professional development with me.
I have also shared the chapters with other science specialists at our monthly training.
Since Karen Busby and I are both on the Technology Task Force, we will suggest that the Web Portal feature a link to your web site.
I especially like the tutorials with each chapter, so any teacher can use your chapters even if they can not participate in the scheduled online sessions. It also helps me as a refresher.

I think it would be great if someone would develop a chapter dealing with the basics of remote sensing (pixels, false color, etc.) so that teachers have more background before they do the chapters. That would make the chapters more meaningful to both teachers and students.
