Study sites (not shown because of resolution issues) are completely contained within a given precipitation zone. Note that none of the USGS gauged watersheds (black lines (watershed boundaries) and gauges (circles)) are completely contained within a given precipitation zone, creating issues for inferring how precipitation phase influences streamflow characteristics. Blue lines show the Salmon River and major tributaries.
