Figure 4. 30 cm resolution LiDAR elevation data showing complex geomorphic relations near BNWR. D: Dunes emerge from the edge of the Chesapeake Bay; P: point and scroll bars of a large meandering channel; H: fine-grained Holocene deposits fill a landscape that was incised during the LGM. Blue represents water, green represents low elevation, and yellow-to-red represents higher elevations (highest elevation is ~1.5 meters). Beach ridges indicate a past shoreline when sea level was slightly higher than present. The star in the SW corner shows the dune photographed in Figure 2.
