Figure 3: view downstream along Pancho Rico Creek and toward the Salinas Valley (in the background). The paired character of the pre-capture terraces is evident in this view. All terraces inset into the labeled pre-capture terraces are at different levels, and are at different heights above the Pancho Rico Creek channel. For example, the terraces surfaces in the right foreground that are numbered are each at a distinct paleofluvial level (1 is highest/oldest, 4 is lowest/youngest).
