Fig.3: The debris-flow frequency for the Ritigraben between 1570 and 2008. Each bar represents one event. Triangles indicated the events known from historical archives. Note that only a minority of the debris-flow events were known before the dendrogeomorphic investigations. Therefore, the reconstruction was extremely important for the assessment of hazard and risk at the location.
