I earned my Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology with a research specialization in bacterial pathogenesis in human disease. My teaching expertise is in general biology, microbiology, medical microbiology, information literacy and research writing, with a special focus on first-year student success. I am currently our Assistant Provost and oversee our Office of Sponsored Programs, and a former Professor in the Biology Department at St. John Fisher University. I am the founding director responsible for building and overseeing our Center for Student Research and Creative Work which includes oversight of our Summer Fellows Research Program. As a Biology Division Councilor in my third term, I serve on the Finance Committee and am the SPUR Associate Editor. I am passionate about mentoring students in my lab where they study bacterial pathogenesis and especially enjoy watching them grow and become independent thinkers and scientists.
