Margarete Jadamec
University at Buffalo
Margarete Jadamec is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences, with a joint appointment in the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, at the University at Buffalo (UB), SUNY. Dr. Jadamec leads the Geodynamics Research and Visualization Group at UB where her team integrates high-fidelity data-driven model design, high performance computing, and 3D virtual reality to solve complex problems in Earth Science. Her innovative research has pushed the technological envelope in geodynamics, building large-scale geographically referenced simulations of the Earth's natural plate tectonic boundaries at unprecedented detail, with a focus on the Alaska system and more recently on the subduction dynamics of the Pacific Ring of Fire. She was awarded a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship at Brown University, received both Best Science Paper and Best Conference Paper at XSEDE12, and is a recent recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award.
