David Doe is from northern New York State – approximately 8 hours from NYC and 2 hours from Montreal, Canada. Having grown up and lived along the Canadian border for most of his life, he is fluent in currency exchange and converting temperatures from Celsius to Fahrenheit and back, and you may hear him say, “Eh,” from time to time. He attended the University of Rochester on a 4-year NROTC scholarship; earning a BA in Geology and a commission as a Naval Officer in 1988. After serving as the Ordnance Officer, Electrical Officer, and First Lieutenant on board ex-USS Harry E. He has spent the last 18 years teaching Earth Science, Astronomy, Environmental Science, and Adaptive Science at Massena High School in Massena, NY. Massena is located on the northern-most border between New York State and Canada in an area referred to by locals as the “North Country” and as “Almost Canada” by just about everyone else. He has coached baseball for the last 12 years at Massena; compiling a record of 99-49-1.
David currently lives in Canton, NY, with his wife, Teresa. They have 3 children - Abby, Emily, and Christopher - and spend 3-5 weeks per year visiting their granddaughters - Grace and Charlotte - in the Sacramento, CA, area.
