NES LTER

Currently, I’m work as a Science Education Consultant for the Northeast US Shelf LTER project and a Communications Specialist for the Ocean Twilight Zone Audacious Project at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.  I have recently completed working as a Professional Development Consultant to UMass Dartmouth NSF TEACH! Southcoast teacher leader development program and serve as a facilitator and curriculum developer for the National Network for Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation (NNOCCI). I love thinking about how people learn and applying research-based strategies to teaching and learning.

I have an M.S. in Oceanography, six years of classroom teaching experience, and 15 years in science outreach, professional development and instructional design. I have organized and orchestrated multiple summer institutes for teachers on global climate science, have lead workshop series on best practices for middle and high school science teachers and worked as an Instructional Designer for the national Challenger Center network, contributing toward developing an earth-science mission for high school students, Earth Systems Science curriculum materials, and an online interactive, CCEarth4U.
