IF THEN STEM Ambassadors

Broadening participation in the geosciences, and STEM fields more generally, is an ongoing priority in geoscience education. To promote this goal, the Lyda Hill Philanthropies in partnership with the AAAS and others have started the IF/THEN Initiative to highlight the professional lives of a diverse group of women in STEM fields. The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) has developed sets of curriculum-related activities focusing on four of those STEM professionals. These activities involve students in reflecting on their own images of STEM professionals and their work, engaging with the "STEM Timelines" of the profiled scientists and relating those to events in their own lives, and exploring how the work of STEM professionals is significant in their lives and communities.Join NESTA today!
