The Ohio Learning Network, an e-learning site for Ohio students, explains why OLN has embraced the 7 Principles of Good Practices developed by Chickering and Gamson, in 1987. To enable broad statewide conversations about quality issues, OLN established a Task Force on Quality in Distance Learning. The Task Force reviewed national policy trends, including organizational and institutional policies, standards, and current research, and agreed that the 7 Principles of Good Practice have successfully stood the test of time and provide the foundation to high quality distance delivery methods. The site also features links and a case study.
