Pamela Brown

CUNY New York City College of Technology

Pamela Brown is currently serving as Associate Provost at New York City College of Technology, a branch of the City University of New York, where she is also an associate professor in the chemistry department.  

 

Prior to this, she served for one year as a Program Director for the National Science Foundation Division of Undergraduate Education where she managed a portfolio of over 50 current awards,  made funding recommendations, oversaw the panel review process, assisted with the development of new solicitations, and provided outreach to the larger scientific community.

 

Before that she served as the Dean of Arts and Sciences for six years. In that capacity she provided leadership to eight academic departments.   

 

She was a member of the National Academies committee which prepared the newly released consensus paper, “Barriers and Opportunities for 2-Year and 4-Year STEM Degrees: Systemic Change to Support Students' Diverse Pathways (2016), Washington, DC: The National Academies Press.

 

Pamela Brown has a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnic University (now NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering), an S.M., Chemical Engineering Practice from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.S., Chemistry from the State University of New York at Albany.
