University of Southern California
<p class="MsoNormal">Ryley is a 5th year PhD candidate in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Southern California. Her doctoral research focuses on applying zircon and apatite (U-Th)/He thermochronology to constrain the timing and rate of tectonic-scale processes in the upper crust, including magma poor rifted margin development, mantle serpentinization and ophicalcite formation, and burial-exhumation in orogenic belts. She is currently working on projects in the Iberia-Newfoundland rift margin and the Bay of Islands ophiolite complex in western Newfoundland. At the 2024 Earth Educators' Rendezvous, Ryley will be presenting her work with the USC Young Researchers Program, a high school STEM outreach program which pairs motivated high school seniors from USC’s neighborhood with PhD student mentors for hands-on research experiences on USC’s campus.
