I am an engineering-based scientist specialized in Hydrology and related areas. As an academic staff of a research-oriented university, I am deeply engaged in basic research and teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. While my research interests cover a broad range of subjects in Physical Hydrology and Fluvial Geomorphology, my current focus is on Earth’s surface dynamics and feedbacks to better understand global environmental changes.

Automatic extraction of flow paths from digital elevation models part of Vignettes:Vignette Collection
Once a raindrop falls on the ground, it flows downward. During this journey, the raindrop joins other raindrops and the mass/volume of the water increases, flowing along creeks, streams, and rivers. This is called ...

Optimality hypotheses for river network development part of Vignettes:Vignette Collection
Earth's surface is full of fascinating patterns and many of them are created by the flow of water. For example, natural stream reaches are composed of regular repetition of riffles and pools. Streams meander ...
