Brenda Costello is a PhD student from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Texas at Arlington. Her dissertation focuses on microfossils from the Lake Bridgeport Shale in Bridgeport, Texas. She has contributed to ongoing analysis of data within the context of the High School Students’ Climate Literacy through Epistemology of Scientific Modeling (CliMES) project. She has experience as a K-12 science educator and certified teacher in the State of Texas. Brenda has an MSc. in Geosciences from the University of Texas at Dallas and a BSc. in Education from Baylor University. While working on her master’s degree, she developed K-12 science curriculum and facilitated teacher professional development field experiences through Dallas College. For the last eight years she has taught Earth and Environmental Science classes at Collin College.
