Nicholas Pohlman

Professor Pohlman has been teaching Mechanical Engineering since 2008 with expertise in fluid mechanics, experimental methods and design within the field of high energy physics. He has received the Educator Credential from the Association of College and University Educators and been awarded the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology Faculty of the Year for Excellence in Undergraduate Education multiple times, most recently after being designated a Presidential Teaching Professor by NIU. In parallel with teaching, Professor Pohlman maintains research activity with both the Institute for the Study of the Environment, Sustainability, and Energy as well as the Northern Illinois Center for Accelerator and Detector Development.
