Margaret Beier

Margaret Beier is a Professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Rice University in Houston, TX. Margaret’s research examines the influence of individual differences in age, gender, abilities, and motivation as related to success in educational and organizational environments. Her work examines the cognitive, attitudinal, and motivational determinants of success in post-secondary learning environments, job and training performance, as well as the influence of these factors on lifelong development and learning. Her work has been funded by the National Science Foundation and published in outlets such as Journal of Research in Science Teaching, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Educational Psychology. She is a fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (SIOP) and a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science (APS).
