Elena Ortiz

Phoenix College

I’m a faculty member of the Biosciences Department at Phoenix College: A Maricopa Community College [https://www.phoenixcollege.edu/programs/biosciences]. I teach environmental biology and general biology for non-majors. My research interests include science and environmental education, plant population biology, plant community ecology, agroecology and ecosystem restoration. I have a Doctorate in Plant Biology from Arizona State University with an emphasis in restoration ecology; a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
