Sunday, October 14: International Earthcache Day

If you are an Earth Science teacher, you probably enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. Geocaching offers you and your students this opportunity as well as the excitement of using some navigation skills to locate some hidden "treasures" in your own neighborhood. Check out this resource for a list of what's in your area.

Tuesday, October 16: No Child Left Inside Day and Earth Observation Day

In today's world too many people have no connection with nature like our ancestors had. The NASA GLOBE Cloud Protocol gives you and your students the excuse to get out of the classroom and connect with your surroundings and best of all, it is free and requires no traveling! NASA needs your help collecting data to better understand the different types of clouds and the effects they have on our Earth's climate. Satellites only see the top of the clouds while you and your students can see the bottom. Participate and submit cloud observations through the GLOBE Observer app. Be sure to check out the Cloud Training resources.
