Application for Pilot Implementation of EvaluateUR-CURE

Thank you for your interest in EvaluateUR-CURE.

We currently are accepting applications to participate in the final round of pilot testing of EvaluateUR-CURE during the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. This opportunity is available through an award from the NSF ATE program (NSF ATE #1836033) to the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo State.

Pilot testing of E-CURE is open to all faculty. Faculty teaching courses with research experiences (CUREs) at community colleges are especially encouraged to apply. A modest stipend is provided for participating in the pilot and providing feedback. Information about the project can be found on the main E-CURE page

Application Instructions

Please describe one CURE in your application (this can be either a 1 or 2-semester CURE taught during the 2022-2023 academic year).
Limit one application per faculty member.
Institutions can submit more than one application to participate in the pilot implementation.

Application Deadline and Notification of Acceptance

Application review will begin May 2, 2022 and notifications made within 2-3 weeks of submission. The review of applications will continue until we cannot accommodate any additional CUREs in the pilot. An orientation program will be scheduled for summer 2022 for CUREs offered during the fall semester. Another orientation will be scheduled in late fall for CUREs offered during the spring 2023 semester. Further details will be provided in the acceptance notification.

a. Name and subject area of the course.

b. Duration of the CURE.

c. Percent of the course devoted to students conducting research.

d. Number of weeks in the semester(s) research is taking place.

e. How long after the course begins the research project starts.

f. How long before the course ends the research project ends.

g. How many times you have taught the CURE?

h. Expected enrollment in the CURE.

i. Will students work individually, in teams, or both?

j. Is the CURE a required or elective course?
