Would love feedback on the general feel and tone - does it read genuinely? Any major gaps (keeping in mind this is primarily for students I'll only have one semester and want them to get an early sense of how I operate and the feel for classes)?

The tone is positive and would make me feel welcomed and safe. I like the tips from former students. I've done that in the past, but not recently. You didn't ask about organization, but I wonder if putting students' comments within the numbered list of expectations could be beneficial. That would affirm that students recognize the importance of the same things you do.
