Marine Geology Using GEODE Workshop Application

While the initial application deadline has passed, we still have a few spots available: to apply to attend this workshop, please complete this application form. We will monitor the application queue and notify you about your application status. Please do not register for the Rendezvous until you receive that notification.

Participants in the Marine Geology Using GEODE Workshop will be introduced to the resources and will also have the opportunity during the workshop to co-develop short exercises to accompany these resources for in-class or lab use.

Do you teach oceanography or a related course? (Select all that apply)

Did you attend the 2018 GEODE workshop? Note: attendance at the 2018 GEODE workshop is not a prerequisite for participating in the 2019 GEODE workshop.

If you attended the GEODE workshop at 2018 EER, did you receive a travel stipend from GEODE to attend?

We are able to provide some stipends to support participation at the workshop through the GEODE NSF-grant. We expect travel awards of ~$1000, depend on travel support application pressure. Funding priority will be given to faculty who teach courses that directly relate to the content of the workshop, faculty at 2-year colleges and/or MSI, and to those who did not attend the GEODE workshop at the 2018 EER. As you prepare your estimated expenses for attending the workshop, bear these details in mind:

  • We cannot guarantee funding for late applications (those received after March 31).
  • The 2-day early bird registration is $250 for NAGT members ($350 for others).
  • On campus housing costs for 2019 are still to be determined, but a 3-night package of dormitory accommodations was available last year for $200.
  • Given that funding is limited, please make use of other sources of funding for your participation if they are available.

If requesting travel support, please estimate the amount you need in the following categories:
