Teaching Demonstration and Share-a-Thon Proposals

Submission deadline: March 1, 2018

For your teaching demonstration or Share-a-Thon proposal to be considered, complete the following form and click on SUBMIT no later than March 1, 2018. Only one first author submission per person. The committee will review the submissions and notify authors by April 1. Accepted demonstrators will be asked to fill out a full activity sheet, including activity assessment, by May 1, 2018. The Cutting Edge Exemplary Teaching Activity Collection are examples of the high standard these activities should meet.

Teaching Demos vs Share-a-Thon - What's the difference?

Teaching demonstrations are 20 minutes in length and are in a classroom-style presentation, differing from the less formal, 1-2-minute presentation followed by small-group discussion in the round-robin style of the Share-a-thon sessions.

The system will attempt to determine the correct file type based on the name of the file you've selected. Choosing the correct file type here will override that.

File Name:

e.g. 'student_handout'
This will be the name of the downloaded file. By default the system will generate this based on the title you specified and the type of file. If you specify a name here it will over-ride the automatically generated name. This is generally only useful when uploading file of a type not recognized by the system (not in the list of file types above). In that situation choose File Type: Unknown Binary and include the appropriate suffix in the file name here. e.g. myfile.m3z Avoid spaces or special characters in the file names.
