Building Strong Geoscience Departments Traveling Workshop Program

The application deadline for these workshops has passed. However, late applications will be considered as long as funding remains. Applicants will be notified within approximately three weeks of the application deadline.

If your department's application is accepted, you will be asked to complete a registration form and to provide us with additional background information in preparation for the workshop.

By completing this application, I certify that if my department is selected to host a traveling workshop, we will:
  • Schedule the workshop to support full participation by all department faculty members.
  • Reserve a meeting space with robust internet access.
  • Provide the workshop leaders with information about our department and its programs.
  • Prepare in advance for workshop discussions via readings, writings, discussion or other activities developed by workshop leaders.
  • Participate fully in the entire workshop.
  • Develop an action plan at the workshop, implement it, and report the outcomes to the project PIs.
  • Contribute to on-line collections of resources for the Building Strong Departments website.
  • Assist in disseminating the results of the workshop through discussions with colleagues and other activities.
