Contribute an Application of Structural Geology in Another Discipline

Structural geology has a large number of straightforward applications to solving problems in other disciplines. We can help students see the relevance of structural geology to geological problem-solving, as well as better prepare students for future work in geology and geological engineering, by integrating into our structural geology courses problems that apply structural geology in other disciplines.

We invite you to contribute:
  • short descriptions of specific examples that could be incorporated into lectures or developed into activities in a structural geology course. We also ask you to supply a supporting reference so that others can find out more information about your example.
  • specific activities and assignments that illustrate applications of structural geology in other disciplines.

Use the form below to contribute short descriptions of examples and references to specific articles. If you wish to contribute a specific activity/assignment using the idea you have contributed, please make your contribution below and then visit Activities and Assignments (opens in a new window) to contribute the activity/assignment. View Applications Collection (opens in a new window) to see what is already in the collection.
