Mobility and Other Accommodations

Travel & LodgingIn making your travel arrangements, please remember that the workshop starts at 6:30 PM on Sunday, July 22 (with an informal reception and dinner at 5 PM) and will end following dinner on Thursday, July 26. You may also participate in an optional visit to NSF on Friday, July 27. While the formal workshop program starts at 6:30, we ask that you do your best to arrive by 5pm to participate in the initial welcome and opening dinner.

If you cannot arrive on Sunday by 6:30 PM, please fly in on Saturday and we will make arrangements for you for Saturday night. (Note: this option is only available if a timely arrival on Sunday is not possible.)

If you attend the NSF trip, you may choose to fly home on the afternoon or evening of July 27 or, if you opt to stay in DC on Friday night, you will be responsible for finding accommodations and the cost of the extra night's stay.

Travel time from the NSF offices to BWI or Dulles is at least one hour (and may be more during rush hour); to Reagan National you should allow at least one-half hour if during rush hour. The Washington DC Airport Shuttle serves all three metropolitan Washington airports. They will pick up at the door and deliver to the airport. You are responsible for your travel to and from the workshop.

Room ArrangementsParticipants will stay in single-occupancy rooms in suites in air-conditioned residence halls at the University of Maryland. See logistics page for details.

Incoming Flight Information

We will send arrival information to fellow participants so you may coordinate taxi or rental car rides with other participants if desired.
