Stuart Allen is a Professor of Economics and head of the Department of Economics at UNC Greensboro. He joined the faculty of the Bryan School of Business and Economics in 1976 and received his Ph.D.in economics from the University of Virginia in 1977. He has taught macroeconomic principles and the MBA Macroeconomics course.

He and Scott Simkins have co-authored a paper concerning the learning outcomes in Principles of Macroeconomic. He and Ken Snowden have published papers on the development of the MA program in Applied Economics and the development of the niche Ph.D. program in Economics at UNC Greensboro.
