Hi Everyone,
I will be traveling all day on Monday, so wanted to introduce myself today (Sunday). I am a teacher at Phoenix Country Day School. I teach physical science and oceanography to 8th graders. I also teach AP environmental science to 11th and 12th graders. I try to bring current science issues and techniques into my instructional methods. I worked with the GLOBE project for a few years. (with my 5th grade classes) I liked their protocols and learning activities. GLOBE project (more info)
I have been working this summer on a lesson for the EarthLabs project. The lesson I wrote this summer is on drought, so precipitation has been on my mind. I look forward to meeting you all and to learning more about the satellite tracking of precipitation.
I have taken some time to look at Giovanni and the tutorials on the website there. I think the use of hovmoller plots looks really interesting. I am still unsure what our citizen science product is going to look like.
