What are, to you, the key issues in creating learning resources that support your teaching style and your student's learning styles?
a.Difficulty in teaching effectively to students from very diverse backgrounds with different styles of learning
b.Time and expertise for developing and/or organizing interactive, hands-on tutorials and problems
c.Appropriate classroom space where such activities could be easily integrated in lectures
What is your vision for the "textbook" of the future and what impediments do you see to realizing that vision? b.Time and expertise for developing and/or organizing interactive, hands-on tutorials and problems
c.Appropriate classroom space where such activities could be easily integrated in lectures
The textbook of the future is probably a little different depending on the level of the course and its audience, but in most cases it would combine a traditional textbook-like section, where basic concepts are covered with illustrative examples and problems, with interactive tutorials and problems.
Describe briefly any research you have undertaken on teaching or learning. None so far.
Have you created publicly accessible learning resources? Not yet.
How would you like to contribute to the workshop? Raise issues/provide perspective that may be particularly relevant to teaching and learning resource development in relatively new, highly interdisciplinary fields.
What would you like to take away from the workshop? Discover strategies for effective incorporation of available and future learning resources in the classroom.
