Language skills reading and writing  

Vision for our STEM students:

1. Ability to read and comprehend STEM material
2. Ability to express themselves clearly through writing

Goal:

1. Provide assignments in class (practice)
2. Expose students throughout college experience

Action Steps:

Bring expert to PKAL to talk about reading and writing assignments in STEM that go beyond standard/typical STEM assignments (e.g. read/response paragraphs, 10 page paper)

Examples:

o Calibrated peer–review
o Visualization of data
o Games
o Role-playing
o Common book
o Design review
o Oral Presentation
