Provide opportunities to experience historic and/or current scientific information through audio/visual media. Further, these sessions allow students to express and discuss their understanding of the science content and its relevance prior to writing a summary.

Provide students an opportunity to read scientific literature, express understanding of scientific content and write a summary of the written work.

In this activity, students identify organs involved in the 5 special senses.

Characterization of Freshwater Ecosystems: Group Collaborative Learning and Peer review part of PKAL-MnSCU Activities
Field based characterization of freshwater ecosystems using group collaborative learning and peer review in an undergraduate research class. Students work in teams to collect data, evaluate and synthesize results to generate and present a scientific poster.

Case Study of Nitrogen in various parts of the Nitrogen cycle: How nitrogen affects human activity and the Environment part of PKAL-MnSCU Activities
In this activity, students will be exposed to aspects of many disciplines of biology to understand how interconnected ALL of the many microcosms of science courses are actually interrelated.
