Addressing Sustainability Issues with Mathematics

As noted in the last issue of the eNews, April is Mathematics Awareness Month (MAM). This year's theme is 'The Mathematics of Sustainability.' To complement this theme, the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics has added a new initiative to MAM: Sustainability Counts!

One of the resources included in this initiative is an essay by SENCER leader Victor Donnay of Bryn Mawr College and co-authors Thomas Pfaff of Ithaca College and Catherine A. Roberts of College of the Holy Cross entitled, "Balancing Needs and Seeking Solutions for a Complex Changing World: The Role of Mathematics in Addressing Issues of Sustainability."
