R. E. Mayer 2001 Cambridge: Cambridge University Press

Mayer looks at selected combinations of visual and textual media which produce effective teaching tools. He also examines how various forms and contrasting forms of presentation help or hinder learning. He presents and discusses several design principles for multimedia learning, based on his cognitive theory of multimedia learning. The book summarizes his and others’ research in realizing the promise of multimedia learning.
