Spatial Abilities of High-School Students in the Perception of Geologic Structures
Y. Kali, N. Orion 1996 Journal of Research in Science Teaching v33 p369-391

Spatial abilities are required to study structural geology. The Geo3D software which the authors of the article have created allows high school students to perceive geological structures and envision cross sections through these structures. Geo3D creates animated visual illustrations of three-dimensional fold and fault structures. The software has both a “spatial investigation” and “structural tasks” module, with increasing levels of complexity.
