This simple Flash animation allows the user to view where the direct rays of the sun are striking during solstice and the equinox. Note how the circle of illumination, the lit portion of the animation, changes for each date. The yellow line located on the right of the animation represents the subsolar point. Upper and lower arrows depict the sun�s oblique rays.
