Infrared radiation, located in that part of the electromagnetic spectrum just beyond visible light, is emitted by all matter and is very useful in gathering data about Earth and space. This video segment introduces students to infrared radiation, its properties, and some of its practical applications. The segment is five minutes forty-two seconds in length. A background essay and list of discussion questions are also provided.
