Elizabeth Katt-Reinders, Earthwatch Radio Series

Climate change might be pushing Arctic ecosystems past the point of no return. This radio broadcast reports on a study of mud cores from the bottom of lakes in the Arctic region, which found that fossils of the past as recently as the 1850's are from organisms that lived in colder climates and were much different from organisms in the same lakes today. The broadcast explains how the current changes in ice cover and the ecosystem food base may change Arctic lakes forever. The clip is 2 minutes in length.
