This site explains that the rich diversity of wildlife in southern Mexico and Central America is in peril. Local governments are using satellites to get a grip on a vast corridor system of protected lands. The article describes the formation of an international project called the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor (CBM). Its aim is to establish a protected green corridor the length of Mesoamerica to prevent ecological isolation. Satellite and remote sensing technology is being enlisted to assist by keeping a daily watch on the corridor. This site is enhanced by photographs, a map, and a streaming or downloadable audio narrative.
