Pulse of the Planet

This two-minute sound segment discusses the factors involved in the decreased population of Adelie penguins. The increase in the average temperature has led to a decrease in the amount of sea ice which serves as a major habitat for not only the penguins but also krill, which is their primary food supply. This site is from an archive of a daily radio program called Pulse of the Planet which provides its listeners with a portrait of Planet Earth, tracking the rhythms of nature, culture and science worldwide and blending interviews and extraordinary natural sound. The site also provides a written transcript of the broadcast.
