Karst features are formed when groundwater dissolves bedrock, usually limestone or dolomite, to create large cavities within the rock. Karst features can allow for rapid migration of groundwater and can greatly affect groundwater flow. Caves and sinkholes are examples of karst features that make for exciting exploration by spelunkers. This non-profit site is dedicated to karst water resources, karst hydrology, karst and cave exploration, and people with unique drive and abilities to explore the science and underground wonders of karst. The site contains reports and abstracts on various research topics involving karst, including water supply, karst regions, and cave exploration and discovery. There is also a photo gallery and lists of related links.
