This portal provides access to information on research activities by the United states Geological Survey that focus on documenting, analyzing, and modeling the character of past and present environments and the geological, biological, hydrological, and geochemical processes involved in environmental change. A set of links directs users to an overview of selected research activities, which is available as a downloadable poster. There are also links to specific research projects, such as the effects of climate change on Chesapeake Bay, late Pleistocene and Holocene history of environmental change in Alaska, the Glacier Studies Project, and many others. Links to datsets, USGS fact sheets on climate change, and a 'frequently-asked-questions' feature are also provided.
