3D Topography Simulations were developed by the Discover Our Earth project. The QUEST and GEOID mapping tools can be used to study earthquakes, volcanoes, topography, and other data. In the virtual experiments, students experiment with isostasy, plate tectonics, and viscosity. In the simulations in the interactive 3d graphics, students can study the physical geography and natural hazards of Mt. St. Helens, Ithaca, NY, the big Island of Hawaii, and earthquakes of South America, the Pacific and the world.
