The Greater Rocky Mountains Region (GRMR) is a large, geologically heterogeneous area that is conducive to oil and gas production. This site provides an overview of the geologic setting, as well as past and present oil and gas exploration in the GRMR. Information about the stratigraphy and structural geology of this region, as well as new technologies that have revolutionized exploration here are provided. Figures, including maps and cross sections, and a more extensive text are available at the link near the bottom of the page.
