This two-minute video interview with SETI researcher Rocco Mancinelli describes his interest in halophiles and their adaptive abilities to withstand extreme environments, including the vacuum and strong ultraviolet radiation of space travel. He discusses the motivation for- and results of- the Biopan 1 mission.
