The goal of this segment of the Paleomap Project is to depict paleogeography, paleotectonics, and paleoclimate for significant geologic times. For quick reference, this site provides a list of animations for major tectonic events and significant climatic changes. Each animation includes a short discussion of relevant concepts and important geologic events. Some specific animations include the breakup of Pangea, tectonic evolution of the North Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans, and the distribution of climatic zones through time.
