This website provides information about Tardigrades and introduces the Tardigrade Species Distribution Project. The objectives of the project are to engage students in hands-on science and to map the United State distribution of a new species of water bear (Milnesium sp.). The site includes links to water bear facts, information about the project, protocols, taxonomy, a pictorial key to Tardigrade genera, a glossary, results from the study, and references. It also includes links to a communication environment and external resources, such as a video, dedicated to tardigrades.
