Building the Quantitative Skills of Non-Majors and Majors in Earth and Planetary Science Courses

This workshop explored the issue of quantitative skills in introductory geoscience curricula in terms of the needs and perspectives of a variety of institutions. Its aims included spotlighting models of programs that work, providing an opportunity for workshop participants to share experiences and assignment, and discussing the connections between quantitative skills in the Earth and Planetary Sciences and broader campus and societal issues regarding mathematical and scientific literacy.
