Hi Folks,  

I'd like to thank all of you for your tremendous contributions to a 
remarkable workshop.  It is simply amazing to be able to witness the 
beginning and growth of this new community.  Everyone brought special 
interests and insights to the workshop, and we all benefitted greatly 
from this collective experience. I hope you all left the workshop with 
something more than what you brought--new ideas, useful tools, 
materials, strategies, new collaborations and networks...

The workshop is only the start. Let's try to keep the momentum going. 
 Please remember to submit your best examples and references so that we 
can continue to grow the supporting collections.  Use this listserv 
(regularly) to report on new findings, your own activities, or just to 
float a new idea.  And please help disseminate the workshop results and 
materials to other interested colleagues, and encourage them to 
participate in follow-on activities.  There will be opportunities to 
propose theme sessions at future professional society meetings, both in 
GEO and the learning sciences, and let's plan to take advantage of those 
opportunities to contribute.

I'd like to extend special thanks to our guest conveners: Michelle Hall, 
Jim Slotta, and Barbara Tversky. The hard work they put into 
conceptualizing and planning the workshop was essential to its overall 
success. And extra special thanks to Cathy and the SERC staff who made 
it all happen.
