Hello all:

Mike Perfit brought my attention to your email exchanges.

I have been working on a revised edition of "Earth's Materials". The old
edition is available with University Readers
(http://www.universityreaders.com/). I have so far revised most of the
chapters (except sedimentary & metamorphic chapters). I can send you all
the revised chapters as .pdf as needed.
Best,

Hi Lydia,

I teach a very similar course (no soils) and use Dexter's MIneralogy
book;
I find it works well but I don't use all the chapters. Sen's book wasn't
at
the right level anyway. But, I haven't searched recently.

Colleagues,

I am designing a one-semester Earth Materials (minerals, rocks, soils?)
course for our Environmental Science major and I'm hunting for an
appropriate textbook. It appears that Sen's Earth's Materials is out of
print. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lydia
