Hi folks,
GSA will hold a joint meeting of the Rocky Mountain and Cordilleran
Sections in Las Vegas from March 19-21. It's been four years since the
Cutting Edge workshops on teaching petrology and structural geology, and
we thought that this might be a dandy time to get people together again
to focus on what's new in teaching petrology and structural geology.
We're planning an oral session and a poster session at the meeting, and,
depending upon interest, we'd like to try to get an informal field trip
together for interested folks. We hope that letting you know about this
now will give you an opportunity to plan to attend the meeting if you
hadn't already considered it.
I have two requests!
1) I'm looking for a few people to help convene the technical sessions
and organize any other activities we might like to have. I would also
_love_ to have someone volunteer to lead a field trip. If you would be
willing to help either with the technical sessions or with a field trip,
please let me know via email.
2) Please submit an abstract! The abstract deadline, December 11, is
early because of the date of the meeting. Note: if you go to the current
meeting page, you will not see our theme session, because the page has
not been updated recently. I expect that it will be updated shortly
after GSA in Denver.
If you have questions, please shoot me an email.
